Do you recall that they would take the plethora of photos and have them turned into slides that could be inserted into a projector and displayed on a large surface so that all of their family and friends that didn’t go on the exotic vacation to Des Moines could now see every moment and have it painstakingly narrated by those people who did go? Maybe your brain has blocked that painful, anxiety inducing experience from your memory, your subconscious protecting you from the trauma you experienced therein.
