The Red Sox (28-32) closed out the month of May with a (5-0) loss to the Atlanta Braves Saturday afternoon at Truist Park in Atlanta. It's the 1st time this season the Red Sox have been shutout. The Red Sox have lost 6 of 7 overall and 7 of their last 8 on the road. Spencer Schwellenbach celebrated his 25th Birthday on Saturday by striking out 11 and walking no one over 6.1 scoreless innings. The Red Sox managed only 5 hits, all singles, against Schwellenbach, who picked up his 2nd win of the season against the Red Sox.

Buehler's Day On the Bump: Walker Buehler took the loss for the Red Sox on Saturday. The right-hander gave up 5 earned runs on 10 hits over 5.2 Innings. He gave up Home Runs to Austin Riley and Ronald Acuna Jr in the Braves 4-run 4th Inning. Buehler falls to 4-3 with the loss.

Tough Times at the Plate: Jarren Duran went 0-for-4 on Saturday and is 0-for-9 in the Series and hitless in his last 11 at-bats. The Red Sox have struck out 28 times and walked only 2 times over the 1st 2 games of the series against Atlanta pitching.

Roster Moves- Reliever Liam Hendriks was played on the IL Friday due to right hip inflammation. The move is retroactive to Wednesday. Reliever Nick Burdi was also recalled from Triple-A Worcester. It's Burdi's 2nd stint of the season with the Red Sox.

What's On Tap?: The Red Sox and Braves close out their series Sunday afternoon in Atlanta. Garrett Crochet is slated to face Bryce Elder in the series finale. The Sox return home and begin a 3-game series with the Angels Monday night at Fenway Park. The Red Sox and Yankees will open up their 1st series of the season next Friday in the Bronx.
