Send us a text First things first. As promised, here is the link to the article that brought about my tip-over point on saying something. "More Florida seniors face being homeless" https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/retirement/the-face-of-homelessness-has-changed-this-florida-woman-78-lives-out-of-her-car-and-eats-just-1-meal-a-day-why-more-and-more-seniors-in-the-sunshine-state-are-facing-homelessness/ar-AA1FuqNg?cmp_prftch=2&ocid=socialshare&pc=U531&cvid=9894248cbca34afa806b59a7b063c66b&ei=48 I hope some seniors help themselves out by getting a new postal code. They deserve better. Like this content? Would love to have you subscribe, it would be great.... Support the show…

Send us a text A brilliant French film noir, "Elevator To The Gallows" is certainly an entertaining movie, but it's more than that, and that "more" makes it great art. Send us a text I really, really didn't want to go with a client to the Philippines. I really, really didn't want to meet the older sister of my client's fiancee. But, I did both of those things, and I got a wife out of it. Support the show

Send us a text Ive never thought much about Rock Hudson one way or another. I don't dislike him as an actor, but I never considered him to be a very skilled actor. Recently, I saw two of his films that changed my mind. Unfortunately, both films failed badly upon release, they never got much of an audience, and so, like me, the public never got to see Hudson get some great material to work with. Send us a text Is there any car dealer in the United States that is completely honest all the way through a sales transaction? I'm talking about completely honest - no misrepresentations about availability, usefulness of the product, actual value of your trade-in (ACV), no lies about financing availability, the rates thereof, the lender's requirements, no mistruths about dealer cost, no lies through omission, etc. And let's say there is a dealer that can get through a single purchase transaction without engaging in some sort of falsehoods or omissions. Is there any car dealer in the United States that is completely honest all the way through all the sales transaction done that day? That week? That month? Let's just look at one day at your local large Toyota dealership or Chevrolet dealership, or whatever. Let's suppose that one sales transaction was done honestly. Let's just suupose, for the sake of the example. What about the other 4 purchases done on that same day? Those were not done completely honestly, so if the dealer did one sales transaction out of five transactions completely honestly, does that then make the dealer merely 20% honest? That doesn't qualify as honest, 20% honesty is not what anyone would consider "honest". If you knew someone that lied 80% of the time, you would never describe that person as an "honest person". See where I'm going with this? So, I ask the question again: "Is there any car dealer in America that can be considered an honest business?" Support the show…

Send us a text Told to me by a Russian, this joke is not so much funny as illustrative of the dark humor Russians are famous for. Send us a text The Corwin Amendment was offered to the southern states before Civil War hostilities really got going, in an effort to keep the United States together, and would have enshrined the constitutional right to own slaves in perpetuity. The House of Representatives passed it, the Senate passed it, and it went to the states for ratification but the southern states, feeling very confident they would win the war quickly, instead continued with secession activity. And we all know how that worked out. But, what if they had just taken the deal instead? Think about how long would slavery have existed in America. Until 1880? Until 1900? Until 1920? Until 1950? And how would it eventually go away? Talk about alternative history! Support the show…

Send us a text I owned two Oldsmobile Toronados, a 1966 and a 1967. I loved both cars, loved driving both cars, and put many thousands of pleasurable miles on each one. Here are two stories connected to the 1966 Toronado and one story that belongs to my time with the 1967 Toronado. Send us a text Our brains don't have a "Delete" function; you''re stuck with whatever got shoved in there when you were a kid. Your mind and personality are both like soft clay when you are a child - very malleable, easily shaped. And if you had some awful stuff going on in those early years, and you became a little misshapen, it's tough to make yourself be at least "kind of" normal as an adult. But, it can be done.
