Don’t Be Fooled

📖 Scripture:
Ephesians 5:5–7 (NIV)
"For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person—such a person is an idolater—has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God’s wrath comes on those who are disobedient. Therefore do not be partners with them."

🧠 Explanation:
Paul now gives a sober warning 🚨. These sinful lifestyles aren’t minor—they reveal a heart that’s far from God and have eternal consequences. Immorality and greed are signs of idolatry, and those who live this way won’t inherit God’s kingdom 👑. Paul also warns against deception: don’t let culture, peers, or influencers make you believe it’s “no big deal.” You can’t honor God by blending into a lifestyle He calls you to leave behind 🚫.

💡 Application:
Stay alert to the messages you’re hearing—from media, friends, or even your own desires 👂📱. Don’t justify sin because it’s common. Choose holiness over popularity. When you refuse to partner with darkness, you honor your identity as a child of God.

❓Reflection Questions:

  1. What cultural lies are you tempted to believe about sin?

  2. Who influences your values the most—God’s Word or society?

  3. Are there relationships or environments you need to step back from?
