What was the best apology you ever received? Was it so good you married them?

After 3 years apart we got married in Vegas 12 days after Rob apologised to me ..... and he wanted to take me out for a coffee. Not a chance! A biiger apology was needed.

So we are together, apart, together, apart, together and then hardly with each other - this is not the usual direction of a rom com but this is our story.

Mr and Mrs Platt.

We went to primary school and high school together in Crewe, Cheshire but we did not get together until we met back in Nantwich, Cheshire when I was 25 and Rob was 24.

We had headed home for Christmas. He was living in Peterborough ... no idea of the county help me out in the comments and I was living in Edinburgh, Midlothian (I hope I have got that correct).

Any ways we got together, renovated a house and started a business then had a messy break up . I will let you listen to how we got back together and no more spoilers from me.

Fast forward after less than 3 months married Rob was dropping me off at Manchester (I am bored of counties now), Manchester airport with a backpack that weight almost half my (then) body weigth at 5 stone!

Yes I was an idiot and that is another story. So I was heading off with my huge backpack with a one way ticket to India and not really having a clue what I was going to do for the next 5 months.

Let me add this was March 2020, yup the start of the pandemic ... only a fool would go globe trotting.

Rob and I share our story of getting me back to the UK after only 3 week in India.

Then after a number of broken promises from the UK Govenment that resembled a toxic relationship I told Rob I was walking 151 miles from Stoke on Trent to London - no training - no prep ... only an idiot would attempt that I hear you say ..... are you noticing a theme?

In my first podcast I make people aware of my story and this is (almost 30%) Rob telling his version and me 'let me have the limelight Jen' speaking for him for 70%. I am obviously mocking myself .... but it's half true.

Lockdown wasn't all bad. I noticed there was a guilt when people would share with me how much it had helped them.

Rob and I had a great lockdown - newly weds with big plans for home, work, travel ... the future.

We did not struggle to pay our mortgage and recognised our fortunate position of liking one another while relationships around us struggled.

We were OK but for many as time went on we realised the huge negative impact lockdowns were having and that this was not being spoken about in the mainstream media ... In fact if you dared to say it out loud you were very quickly shut down.

We were OK yet we started an unexpected journey that put us in the 'not OK' position as we came up against a lot of negativity from those close to us and complete strangers.
