  1. Consciousness Raising – this involves building awareness
  2. Dramatic Relief – where you pay attention to emotions and feelings
  3. Self-Reevaluation – this involves creating a new self-image
  4. Environmental Reevaluation – where you notice your impact on others
  5. Social Liberation – where you notice public support and gain alternatives
  6. Self-Liberation - where you make choices and commitments
  7. Counter-Conditioning – this involves using substitutes
  8. Stimulus Control – where you observe and manage your environment
  9. Reinforcement Management – where you use rewards
  10. Helping Relationships – where you get help and support
