Today, Sarah Lyew explores what it means for Jesus to be the good shepherd. Though, like sheep, we go astray (Isaiah 53), there is a shepherd willing to lay down his life to bring us back into his fold. As a brief programming note, next week we will be returning to our series on the Gospel of Mark which we paused back in November for Advent. We will return to finish the "I Am..." series after Easter Sunday.

Please find the slide deck for this week's teaching here.

Home Church Questions:

1. What were you like as a kid? Is there someone in your family you are similar to?

2. What stood out to you from Sunday's teaching?

3. Read John 10:1-18. What stands out to you from this passage?

4. Who would you say knows you the best? Could you recognize their voice anywhere?

5. How well do you function when you know you must depend on someone else? Is that easy for you?

6. Why is it important to pay attention to the voices you’re listening to?

7. Read Ezekiel 34:1-12. What stands out to you from this passage?

8. What differences do you see between Jesus as the Good Shepherd and the shepherds in this passage?

9. What are the results or consequences of looking to someone else other than Jesus as your Shepherd (including yourself)?

10. If you are feeling brave: Is there something in your life you need to admit you’re a bit lost on? Do you need to allow yourself to depend on Jesus in an area of your life? What do you think Jesus’s response to it is?

11. Pray with and for one another.
