This month, Ann Garton returns as our host to lead a discussion about the links between person-centered care and trauma-informed care. The panelists explain the different kinds of trauma and share research surrounding Adverse Childhood Experiences.

๐๐๐จ๐ฎ๐ญ: Anne is the Clinical Director for Transitions Mental Health Services in Moline and Rock Island, IL. As an IL Licensed Clinical Social Worker, she has specialized in the field of mental health, with adults, children and families for the past 26 years. In her capacity as clinical director, she provides clinical and administrative oversight to a team of over 30 mental health professionals while developing programming to serve the mental health needs of Quad City residents.
๐๐ฎ๐๐ฌ๐ญ: Paula Vandervelde, former Trauma-Informed Care Coordinator for the Child Abuse Council of the Quad Cities
๐๐๐จ๐ฎ๐ญ: Paula Vandervelde served most recently as the Trauma-Informed Care Coordinator for the Child Abuse Council. She worked to reduce and prevent Adverse Childhood Experiences and to eliminate child abuse. In this role, she coordinated the Quad Cities Area Trauma-Informed Consortium, which leads work to create a community full of Trauma-Informed policies, programs, and practices with the hope that this can help Quad Citians form meaningful relationships with their community rather than adversarial ones.
