Christianity for the Rest of Us
Manage episode 458314569 series 3629251
Many of us didn’t grow up in church. We weren’t raised with flannel graphs, memory verses, or altar calls. We found Jesus later — sometimes painfully so — after spending years worshiping ourselves. In this episode, I share the raw beginnings of my faith journey as a former atheist and explain why this podcast exists at all.
I also lay the groundwork for what it means to follow Christ in a world that’s grown hostile or indifferent to truth. This one’s for the seekers, the skeptics, and the seasoned Christians wondering what kind of gospel I’m preaching. Mount up. This will be interesting.
🔹 Topics include:
– My unexpected conversion at age 42
– Why cultural Christianity is failing
– Global shifts in the faith
– The urgent need for real discipleship
📖 Key Scriptures:
Matthew 16:18 – “I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”
Ephesians 2:1–5 – “But God, being rich in mercy…”
