Dr. Loiaza is a leading expert on mosquito-borne disease, transmission risk, and how vector-borne pathogens interact with humans, wildlife, and their environment. Dr. Julie Labau is a disease ecologist with a PhD in neuroscience from Yale University. Dr. Labau has been working alongside Dr. Loiaza, studying climate change's effect on mosquitoes and mosquito-borne disease throughout Panama for the last two years.
