Anarchy In A Jar started with humble beginnings but has now blossomed into a jam company that anyone would be proud to write home about. For starters, the ingredients come from local farms, the founder, Laena McCarthy, is handcrafting each batch out of Brooklyn, NY, and everyone from the NY Times to Saveur to that food blogger you follow religiously are singing Anarchy's praises. Not. too. shabby. Instead of going to culinary school like many in the food business, Laena started out her career working for the National Science Foundation in one of the most remote places on the planet: Antarctica. We talk about her time there, how she started her business semi-illegally in the basement of a church, and how the BK food world has changed since she came onto the scene.
