· The choices you make today - will help you tomorrow.
My Comment:
The Defendant must pay attention to what they are and are not allowed to do once placed on pretrial release. They must not lie on any documents or to anybody.
· At the start of the legal process, a magistrate judge will introduce the charges.
· Depending on the severity of the case, a few release options are available, including personal recognizance, secured bond, bail, or being remanded at that time.
· Pre-trial supervision is under an Officer of The Court
· Then they're taken into custody by the US Marshals, where they're arrested, fingerprinted, photographed, and have a DNA sample taken.
· Pre-trial services are where the Court Clerk will inform them of their rights and restrictions. Pay attention.
· It is essential to note that they must be fully compliant and respectful throughout the process. Now is not the time to anger your judge.
· Firearms are not allowed (and may not be allowed in your home), and you may be required to wear an ankle bracelet to monitor your movements. This may be cellular or require a landline.
