Have you ever experienced a big change?
Perhaps you moved, navigated an injury recovery, changed careers or had a loved one pass away…
Or perhaps you’re now a mom or an empty nester and processing grief related to how your life used to be…

Whatever the change, then this episode is for you :)

Today we are taking a deeper dive into change and grief with the lovely Jodie Heffren - a nurse, bestselling author, breathwork + cold therapy guide and the owner + founder of Rooted Woodland.

And, Jodie and I are excited to share that we are hosting the second “Grief, Grace + Gratitude Workshop” on Saturday Nov 9 at her beautiful property in The Blue Mountains Ontario. This workshop is open to everyone and is for anyone navigating change or loss: https://ediegudaitiswellness.com/schedule/

These are the key points from our conversation:

  • Change is a natural part of life. Grief often accompanies change. Tools like breathwork and grounding techniques (orienting, earthing, visualization practices, hand on heart) can help you feel anchored within yourself + more empowered in your life as the exterior world shifts
  • We all process grief differently - it’s ok to feel what you feel + go at your own pace. The main thing is to process it - don’t suppress it
  • Vulnerability is your superpower. By speaking about how you feel + asking for support, you inspire other people to speak up as well
  • Community is everything. We are relational beings and we heal on the individual and collective level. For resources to meet conscious and welcoming communities, reach out to Jodie or Edie
  • Practice. Practice. Practice. Connecting with your breath everyday + taking time to check in with your senses is incredibly supportive for your nervous system health and can help you shift out of a stress response with more ease when you are triggered in the moment

A bit more about Jodie:

Jodie Heffren is a Registered Nurse with 17 years of experience and a certified breathwork and cold plunge facilitator. Jodie courageously pursued her dream of escaping city life in 2022, finding solace and inspiration in the forest. The magic of the forest led to her to create Rooted Woodland—a 42-acre forest sanctuary in Ontario’s Blue Mountain region. Here, she shares her gift of healing and tranquility, guiding guests on transformative journeys of self-discovery through forest bathing, cold immersion, and contrast therapy.
