Intro & Invocation (0:00-3:20) The 11th Book of the Golden Ass by Apuleius - The Vision of Isis

Kate talks about the history of the pentagram and Kristal unwraps how it became a symbol of evil (spoiler alert: the patriarchy!). They discuss how it’s used in the modern era, depending on pagan paths. They also touch on the distortion of protective symbols and the resulting religious trauma. (3:21-15:32)

Pentagrams are used for invoking and banishing. Kristal describes how to invoke and banish elementals using pentagrams drawn with your hands in the air. They chat about the word banishing and resistance that might be felt about that word. They innovate on using banishing to even say farewell to people we like: banished, with love, from Kate and Kristal. (15:33-24:15)

Kristal introduces the difference between pentacles and pentagrams (pentacles are pentagrams in a circle) and discusses her uses of each. Kate explores ways she might get past her discomfort with pentagrams and begin to work with the shape. (24:16-34:33)
