In this episode we chat with the team from Eye Contact Theatre Company about their upcoming play, Hairworm. The play deals with a lot of heavy themes, centring around the eating disorder, and we find out about the sensitivities, the care and the devotion of the team to bring light to this often taboo subject. Eye Contact Theatre Company is a Sydney based creating platforms for emerging artists, finding spaces to share timely stories that reflect our world. The story of a teenage girl living with an eating disorder, from the onset of the parasitic illness right through to her recovery and negotiation of the world after her diagnosis. Samo is Dead is a new Australian work written by Jodi Rabinowitz and directed by Sophia Bryant, which they describe as a love letter to artists. The show has already had a season at the Seymour Centre earlier and the year and they are bringing it back to put on for Step Up Festival, an initiative run by KXT to provide 10 emerging artists with additional skills, opportunities and connections. Thomas "Wombat" Goth-Towney set out a year ago to make 12 films in 12 months. In this episode he chats to us about his experience learning everything he could over one year and turning that into as many films as possible. Thomas is a trained Actor and Stuntman but wanted to pursue his passion for film-making, and the best way he felt to do that was with a challenge to himself.
