In this episode we chat with the team from Eye Contact Theatre Company about their upcoming play, Hairworm. The play deals with a lot of heavy themes, centring around the eating disorder, and we find out about the sensitivities, the care and the devotion of the team to bring light to this often taboo subject. We do have a few laughs on the way and even manage to slip in a Rick and Morty reference.
Eye Contact Theatre Company is a Sydney based creating platforms for emerging artists, finding spaces to share timely stories that reflect our world. We're Joined this week by company founders, Simon Thomson and Director and Jess Davis who are both working on the upcoming show Hairworm. The story of a teenage girl living with an eating disorder, from the onset of the parasitic illness right through to her recovery and negotiation of the world after her diagnosis. An insight into the mind of one compromised. This is her life. Her routine. Her reality.
The play will be on from the 1st of October to the 5th and is playing at the Old 505 as part of Freshworks Femme. @eyecontacttheatreco
