Why do I feel like crap before my period, when 2 weeks before, I was happy and fabulous? Why do I have aches in my torso/back and why are my hands/feet so cold? Why am I so emotional some days, then confident and relaxed on others? These are the questions many women find themselves asking, depending on the time of the month. Sharing my reflections on a workshop I attended, this episode explores the menstrual cycle from an eastern and western perspective, to better understand how and why women feel differently throughout their 28 day hormonal cycle. Unlike our male friends whose hormones follow a 24-hour cycle (like the sun), we are not supposed to be the same each day. Rather, we move with the moon over 28 days. The good news is, every part of the wave-like cycle serves a purpose when we learn how to synch up! Read more details on the female hormone cycle via https://www.healthline.com/health/womens-health/stages-of-menstrual-cycle#luteal and consult your healthcare professional to better understand your unique experiences.
